Alicia Banwell graduated from Western University in 2019 with her B.Sc. in Biology. During her time at Western, she developed an interest in environmental science and the Great Lakes, which led her to the M.Sc. Environmental Science program at GLIER. Her project, in collaboration with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, focuses on the microbial response to different nutrient application practices (solid organic fertilizer, liquid organic fertilizer, and chemical fertilizer) in a controlled environment.
